What’s happening with the iOS 8 jailbreak? Who is working on it? Is it available? When will it release?
These questions have been asked regularly since the release of Apple’s latest mobile operating system iOS 8. With iOS 8.1 scheduled to release later today, many within the jailbreak community are becoming a little antsy, wondering if and when they will be able to jailbreak their new iPhone 6 or 6 Plus to access popular Cydia jailbreak tweaks like Activator and iFile, not to mention customizing themes for iPhones, iPads and iPods.
The iOS 8.0.2 untethered jailbreak is here today. Things have been a little quiet recently on the topic of a public jailbreak release and official/factory unlock by IMEI for iPhone 6 Plus,6,5S,5,4S, leading us all to think that it could be quite some time until we were able to see how iOS 8 performs when truly set free. The good news is that the wait is finally over. The bad news is that early discussions and word from Cydia creator Jay Freeman seem to suggest that the latest unlock-jailbreak tool release might have been rushed out before the right people could get the necessary components in place to support users.
The new tool
(evasi0n7 - iOS 7.0.x Jailbreak)
, which offers iPhone 6,5S,5,4S, iPad users on iOS 8-8.0.2 an untethered jailbreak, has just been updated to version number 1.0.8, adding belated support for iOS 8.0 build 11A466.
