2013 is going to be one of the most exciting and competitive year, as giant companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Google and Samsung will launch new products that targets individual consumers.  Here is a list of some most awaited gadgets of the year compiled by Business Insider.

After Apple launched the 7 inch iPad into the market last October, most of its customers blamed the company for its decision to omit the Retina Display. Even though its just 3 months, rumors are already boiling out on the next version of 7inch tablet. According to a Digitimes report, Apple is working on the new iPad mini. The report suggests that Apple is advancing the display to Retina. Another Source says the company is set to put the iPad Mini Retina into production and it will be launched by mid 2013. Though these two sources did not reveal the details, consumers wouldn’t get any surprise as the company has delivered Retina Display devices earlier.

Though HTC is having a tough time losing market share in recent times, the company plans to retake its previous hold in the market with their latest M7 Androidhandset. HTC M7 is a successor to the One Series and is already being considered as HTC’S new flagship phone and the proposed Galaxy S 4’s biggest competitor. According to the spec leaks, device features a 4.7-inch 1080p display, 1.7GHz quad-core snapdragon CPU, 2GB of RAM and a 13MP camera in an aluminum unibody design. Although those specifications are not confirmed by the company, it is considered that the HTC M7 will be a modified version of popular HTC One X handset.

The amazing product of Google, Google Glass, a “wearable computing system” got Best Invention of 2012 Awards and people became cognizant of its embellished and increased real world capabilities. Google Glass Project is a program by Google’s R & D team to develop an augmented reality head-mounted display (HMD). This product would display info like Smartphone hands-free and could interact with the Internet via natural language voice commands. Google’s Android is used in the glasses as Operating System. This gadget includes features like video chatting, accessible maps, internet viewing, photo capture and sharing.


 Samsung Galaxy S IV


Samsung galaxy s4Samsung’s follow-up to the popular Android phone of all time has never gone unnoticed on our eyes since the company commenced japing its CES announcement some weeks ago. According to many industry experts, unlike the Galaxy S III, the next-gen Galaxy will flaunt the latest specs including a 2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and 13MP rear camera. Samsung is also expected to debut its 5.5-inch flexible-display. Some other reports cites that the Galaxy S IV will be introduced at the Mobile World Congress in February, otherwise expect to see it in few months time.

Although Microsoft didn’t confirm the full details of its publicized “720,” a holiday launch of this next generation system is about to take place. The gaming device is available with its Kinect  technology upgrades, Xbox Live interface, and graphics hardware.  Console mock-ups will deluge the web and company will be unveiling a final design of this device at E3 expo. This Xbox 720 video game console is a successor to the Xbox 360 and will hit the stores some time in 2013

It’s Apple’s turn now. iPod Nano was the smallest ever device with a screen designed by Apple, and it has a 1.55-inch display and 24-hour battery life. This device doesn’t have video playback, but it became a widely known gadget when third-party companies discovered it could double as a wrist watch. That was when Apple decided to enter into this area. According to reports, we may see an iWatch this year.

Rumors came from the Taiwan Economic News that Amazon gave a deal to Foxconn to manufacture its first ever Smartphone. According to the same report, the device will run on the Android platform and will carry a consumer-friendly price tag. The report also says a second generation Kindle Fire HD tablet is also in the production pipeline

Apple is going to launch its next version of iPhone by mid of 2013, which could be named as iPhone 5S or 6. According to Peter Mises of Business Insider, the device will feature a Super HD camera/screen, a better battery, and NFC. This is not the end; the device will support an IGZO screen for improved Retina display and 128GB storage along with six different color options.

The device is bruited to feature a 5-inch 1080p screen, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset and 2GB of RAM. The Xperia series series continues to struggle on the domestic front, whereas Odin has the potential to keep the company in the Android hunt

We have already seen the High Quality 4K TVs from SONY and LG, now Toshiba will be joining this field with its 84-inch “Quad Full HD” 4K TV Set. The device is powered by the manufacturer’s CEVE Engine and provides a gigantic 3840*2160 resolution. Pricing and details of this device is not available till now.

We used to hear about Apple’s revolutionary TV during Steve Jobs era. After months of speculation, CEO Tim Cook said in an interview with NBC’S Brian Williams that the company has an area of interest on the segment of television market. According to the reports, Apple is searching for flat-screen panels within the 46 to 55 inch range, while on the other hand Wall Street Journal reports that suppliers of electronic consumer goods have commenced testing the top-secret-product. A couple of features like Siri integration, iCloud support, and iDevice compatibility are being publicized.
